Marquis: Protector Of The Dark Blade (Series)

Marquis’s whole world is unraveling piece by piece. The fast paced lifestyle he’s become accustomed to is gradually coming to a staggering halt. Easy income from his distribution of a new drug called “tilt” has been ceased due to his carelessness, and he’s no longer trusted by his suppliers. His high school sweetheart, Lauren, is seeming to be moving on with a new guy she’s befriended while finishing up her second semester of college. And Marquis's constant poor performance and tardiness has left his boss no choice but to fire him from the job assignment appointed to Marquis by his probation officer. 

But, more concerned about getting Lauren back, Marquis asks his childhood friend, Trae, who as of recently has begun to rise to stardom in the rap game, to put in a good word for him with their old friend, who’s also risen in ranks in the drug business. Unfortunately, when Marquis goes to speak with the new suppliers, he finds them all brutally murdered. The only one who seems to have any idea as to who the killer could be is a mysterious woman by the name of Nihari. She explains to Marquis that she’s been looking for him for some time, and that she’s in search of The Dark Blade, an ancient and cursed katana his father has been hiding with for years. Marquis not only has no idea what The Dark Blade is, but as far as he knew, his father died before Marquis was born.
